Susan's Story

Susan Saffron’s approach to jewelry can be described as traditional with a twist, drawing on inspiration from her everyday encounters including community, faith, and family. With 35 years of experience in wholesale and jewelry design, Susan enjoys collaborating with her clients to create beautiful one-of-a-kind pieces they will treasure forever.

After graduating from college, Susan moved to Dallas and became a flight attendant providing her the opportunity to visit amazing places around the world. It was Susan’s first visit to Thailand that ignited her passion for jewelry making. Soon after that trip, she started a wholesale business selling loose stones from Thailand to the U.S. and eventually manufacturing her own designs for high-end resorts, shops, and trunk shows around the country.

With 8-year-old triplets at home, traveling for work became a thing of the past and in August 2009, Susan opened Susan Saffron Jewelry Boutique. Traveling around the corner to Inwood Village each day was the perfect solution to juggling it all…family, friends, and a thriving retail store where she used her years of experience to give her a key insight into the needs and wants of the Dallas marketplace.

Her boutique has earned a reputation for their creativity in custom jewelry making, taking client’s visions and turning them into reality. In addition to the full-service custom jewelry design and repair aspect of the store, Susan’s boutique supports other small jewelry makers, from fine to fashion, with a focus on female entrepreneurs such as Armenta, Jude Frances, and Julie Vos to name a few.

Susan’s love for jewelry is rooted in its timelessness. A special piece of jewelry is kept forever, and handed down from generation to generation, whether it’s a wedding ring, a family stone, or a string of pearls.

When Susan isn’t at the store chatting with clients about both jewelry and life or conjuring up ways to keep things fresh at the store, she gets her kicks by catching up with her kids, traveling, laughing with friends and surrounding herself with as many fresh flowers as possible.
